His victory in New York last Nov. 2 only sealed an outstanding two-year period for Wilson Kipsang. A victory then achieved on a particularly cold and windy day and in a tight finish<\/a> against Desisa that highlighted his exceptional athletic skills and superlative running elegance.<\/p>\n

Kipsang was awarded the men’s World Marathon Majors title (World Marathon Majors, or the “world championship” of marathons, based on his results in the six cities-it is in fact also known as the “Big Six”-of Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago and New York).<\/p>\n

In fact, in the past two years he has won three, becoming the first man to win them in this time frame: in fact, he has triumphed in London, Berlin (where he set in 2013 the world record<\/a> of 2h 3′ 23″ remained undefeated for a year) to finish a stellar hat trick in New York.<\/p>\n
