After months and months in which the only news about the races was about their cancellations, we are just now recording a hopeful confirmation.<\/p>\n

With all due caution (caution also taken by the organization, of course), the Ganten Monza21 Half Marathon<\/a> has been confirmed for September 12 and 13 and will be run inside the Monza motor racing circuit. The are actually two separate races: the 10k on Saturday 12 and the 21 on Sunday 13, both competitive and non-competitive.<\/p>\n

How is this possible?<\/h3>\n

The question must have arisen for you: in this period of Covid and very strict spacing rules, how can you hold a race that involves gatherings of people? The organization has provided for the quota of entrants and compliance during the course with the strictest regulations to ensure all participants’ safety and health, in accordance with health authorities.<\/p>\n

Where does one sign up?<\/h3>\n

Registration is already open-though with limited availability of places-at this address<\/a>. The competitive or non-competitive 10k costs 20 euros and the 21k costs 30 euros.<\/p>\n

While the Venice Marathon is still confirmed<\/a> for next Oct. 25 without any mention of special anti-covid regulations (although it seems unlikely that they will not have to take them into account), the Ganten Monza21 Half Marathon seems to be a first, brave return not to normalcy but at least to racing, on the road, along with many other runners.
