Of the importance of sunglasses when running we have talked about it here<\/a>. And I know that it is not an easy task to be able to identify the right glasses for you because, often, “sporty” shaped glasses are not enough or, more simply, they are not appropriate for the use we will make of them.<\/p>\n

The good news for us runners is that some high-end manufacturers have created models specifically for running. And, among the premium brands, there is undoubtedly the Italian
\n Rudy Project<\/a>
\n<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Rydon Running: the main features<\/h2>\n

Beyond the name itself, which qualifies it as a running eyewear, what really sets it apart are its technical specifications. And you know it as soon as you pick up Rydon Running.<\/p>\n

They are light as a feather<\/strong>, in fact, at 24 grams<\/strong> total, it feels like you are not wearing them. So much so that, after a while, you don’t hear them anymore.<\/p>\n

But, exactly as you would expect, it is in use that they are at their best.<\/p>\n

With adjustable nosepads and temples made of material that fits snugly-even<\/strong> when you’re very sweaty-they keep comfort at a very high level at all times. Indeed, there is nothing more annoying than glasses that slip and require constant adjustment.<\/p>\n

It is precisely from these aspects that careful and effective design can be recognized: the eyewear gives its best during use<\/strong>. They are clearly a tool to make running more comfortable, even in the most challenging light conditions.

The lenses: the aspect that really impresses<\/h2>\n

As you realized, the structure of the Rydon Running<\/a> is excellent and perfect for a runner (or trail runner) but what is the most relevant part of the sunglasses? Yes, you guessed it right: the lenses!<\/p>\n

In this aspect the Rydons amaze.<\/p>\n

The model I tested (and see in the photos) mounted the
\n IMPACTX 2 RED lenses<\/a>
\n<\/strong> and their main feature is that they are shatterproof and, most importantly, photochromic<\/strong> (other lenses also exist and, of course, are interchangeable).<\/p>\n

What does it mean to train using sunglasses with photochromic lenses? It means that you have the correct level of light filter under all conditions, and as a result, the vision is always optimal.
\nIf you use them at night, they are completely transparent and therefore only serve a protective function from debris, wind, dust and particles that can irritate or, worse, damage the eye.
\nWhen you use them in the daytime, they adapt to different conditions with light transmission ranging from 76% to 17% depending on lighting conditions. In addition, the special coloring ensures extremely sharp contrasts and better depth perception.<\/p>\n

The last characteristic of the lenses-but not in order of importance-is shape and workmanship. In addition to being unbreakable, the running model (there is also the “regular” Rydon, for cycling) incorporates vents at both the bottom and top; thus minimizing the risk of fogging<\/strong> due to body heat and perspiration.<\/p>\n

Ultimately<\/h2>\n

If you’re looking for sunglasses for running, the
\n Rydon Running<\/a>
\n<\/strong> Rudy Project’s are perfect. Technologically advanced, lightweight and suitable for any use.
\nThe list price of 185 euros places them at the high end, and with “traditional” sunglass lenses, it drops to 159 euros. But, believe me, the model with photochromic lenses is worth every single euro of difference.<\/p>\n
