In<\/span> early September, Brooks unveiled the new Levitate 5<\/strong>, a long-awaited update of one of the U.S. brand’s best-selling models in the energize<\/em> category. The real news, however, is that this is not just one shoe, but as many as four different variants<\/strong> that-while sharing the same outsole and midsole-satisfy different needs and fitting tastes with different uppers.<\/p>\n

For Brooks users, Levitate has always been synonymous with maximum responsiveness: in fact, the patented DNA AMP<\/strong> cushioning system is intended to offer the greatest possible energy return; all variants have a generous 8 mm drop.<\/p>\n

Four shoes, one heart<\/h3>\n

As mentioned above, the most interesting part of this project-which Brooks plans to gradually extend to the entire range-is the emergence of a system. Levitate 5 is what we might call the basic model<\/em>, while the sister Levitate GTS 5<\/strong> adds the holistic support <\/span>GuideRails<\/strong>\u00ae<\/strong>, which supports the foot more, indulging the runner’s stride.<\/span> Both shoes have a classic-type upper (Universal Fit), which is much lighter on the foot than it might seem holding them in your hands.<\/p>\n

Levitate 5 StealthFit<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The innovations continue with the (both GTS and non-GTS) StealthFit<\/strong> versions: in this case, the FitKnit<\/strong> upper is a kind of ultra-comfortable compression sock with integrated tongue, which wraps around the foot, making it one with the shoe<\/strong> in part due to its special elasticity. These variants are designed for athletes who prefer aerodynamics and foot sensitivity.<\/p>\n
