Yesterday, during its now customary fall event, Apple unveiled a lot of new things: new iPhones, new iPads, and the new Apple Watch arriving Series 7. So much news, too much to talk about in one post, and so-for now-I will focus on everything related to sports and wellness<\/strong>. In the coming days we will also delve into the other aspects of a technology ecosystem that is, for all intents and purposes, a true support for our daily lives.<\/p>\n

Rumors spoke of a new Apple Watch with a new design, more angular and in line with the shape of iPhones but, as is often the case, these were precisely just rumors. In fact, the device has a similar design to previous models and has been improved especially in the display, charging times, and new features that will come with watchOS 8.<\/p>\n

The new display<\/h2>\n

The new Apple Watch Series 7 display offers nearly 20 percent more viewing area and thinner edges. The case design has been optimized to accommodate the more generously sized display and increases by only one millimeter, thus offering two different sizes: 41 mm and 45 mm.<\/p>\n

The new Retina always-on display is up to 70 percent brighter indoors than the Apple Watch Series 6, so it’s easier to look at the watch face without having to lift your arm or reactivate the display.<\/p>\n

Now Apple Watch also has a QWERTY keyboard<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

With a new, larger display surface, the new Apple Watch offers a new QWERTY keyboard on which users can type by tapping their finger or swiping the display with QuickPath.<\/p>\n

Fast Recharge<\/h2>\n

With a battery life of 18 hours, charging the new Apple Watch is 33% faster than the Series 6 thanks to the new architecture and USB-C Magnetic Fast Charger cable.5<\/p>\n

watchOS 8<\/h2>\n

The new version of the operating system that will be available from September 20, as usual, introduces additional dials designed specifically for the Apple Watch Series 7’s larger display, but the new features are mainly functional and related to sports, health and wellness.<\/p>\n

Not surprisingly, the new Mindfulness app, sleep breathing rate monitoring, and new Tai Chi and Pilates workouts help improve overall well-being.<\/p>\n

News for sports<\/h2>\n

As is already the case for running and walking, Apple Watch analyzes GPS, accelerometer and gyroscope data and heart rate to detect when the user starts cycling, and suggests starting an “Outdoor Cycling” workout if not already done.
\nIn addition, bike workouts now have auto-pause functionality, which is very useful especially in urban settings or when you stop at traffic lights.<\/p>\n

On the safety front, in watchOS 8, the fall detection algorithms have been updated and optimized to detect falls during a workout and have been refined to recognize the particular movement and impact of a fall during different types of workouts.<\/p>\n

These are just some of the new features that have been introduced, but the real news is that by the end of the year Fitness+ will also arrive in Italy<\/strong>, integrating seamlessly with the Apple Watch and other Apple devices. But, more about that in a few days.<\/p>\n

When can I buy it?<\/h2>\n

The Apple Watch Series 7 collection features five new colors for the aluminum case, Midnight, Galaxy, green, a new light blue and (PRODUCT)RED will be available in the coming fall months, no firm date is yet available.<\/p>\n
