Speaking of uppers, Under Armour\u2019s designs are impressively versatile, keeping warm in winter and cool in summer. The Velociti 4\u2019s upper is stretchy and snug, but the toe area is tight, so consider sizing up by half or even a full size for comfort.<\/p>\n<h3>Let&#8217;s go for a run<\/h3>\n<p>Here we come to what I mentioned at the beginning, which is how balanced the running experience is. For me there is a very simple criterion for whether a shoe is balanced on the road, and I mentioned it before: you have to forget about it. And the Velociti 4s you forget them, right away. Only to be amazed as you run in them because, despite having a normal stack (certainly lower than that of the now increasingly popular super shoes), they are protective, responsive and above all have a peculiarity that I judge very positively: they have a homogeneous behavior along their entire length.<\/p>\n<p>What I mean with that? Whether you run forefoot (like me) or heel, their response is always the same. Do I put it another way? When you land on them while running, they never feel unloaded and you never feel like they need another little bit of material (i.e., compound). That&#8217;s the balance I was talking about: it&#8217;s that feeling you get when everything is under control and nothing distracts you from perceiving the road. To the point where you feel them so tight and integrated with your body that you can push on them or not, they follow you anyway.<\/p>\n<h3>Who they\u2019re for<\/h3>\n<p>While the Velociti 4\u2019s responsiveness and low stack aren\u2019t suited for long runs or heavier runners, they excel in fast, quality workouts and can handle longer distances for trained, average-weight runners. Their responsiveness also makes them ideal for technical training where feeling the road and working the foot matters.
