You might think that here at RunLovers we are always joking and spending the day making jokes and having fun, but instead we are serious and very focused on what we are doing. But there is always music playing in the background, and when Chaka Khan’s “Ain’t Nobody” starts, there is none for anyone: we get up and dance. But there is also “I will survive” by Gloria Gaynor and “We are family” by the Sisters Sledge.
Notice anything? They are all songs sung by women, and what women. Here it is: this week we celebrate the most beautiful women’s voices from Italy and abroad to say THANK YOU FOR EXISTING. Really: as women, as creatures, as runners and, today, as healthy carriers of incredible voices.
Two hours of music with ever-changing rhythms: from funk to rock by the Hole, to pop by All Saints and Natalie Imbruglia to end … with “L’importante è finire” by the supreme Mina giving way only to Nina Simone with “Feeling Good,” because when you finish your run you can only feel great.
This playlist is pure #girlpower. We put it on and run with it. See you on some road running-you’ll recognize us because we sing and flinch indecisively between running and dancing. Let’s dance! Oops: let’s run!
