Back for the 5th year is Wings For Life, the charity run in which 100% of the proceeds will go to spinal cord injury research.
On May 5 it will be run on the beautiful Island of Albarella in the Po Delta, with the very special and original formula that has always characterized this run. In fact, it is a race that lasts as long as you can make it last. Or rather: you leave, and after half an hour a “catcher car” leaves, proceeding at a maximum of 20 km/h. The harder you run, the later you get caught up and thus eliminated. For this to happen you must be passed by the catcher car, which reads your chip and disqualifies you. If you run at 6 min/km in a nutshell around the 11th km you’ve gotten caught.
The first three Italian editions always saw Giorgio Calcaterra triumph, who also managed to win globally after escaping the catcher car for an impressive 88.44 km.
