Shoes to improve one’s Personal Best

Ahead of the Deejay Ten on Oct. 11, together with New Balance, we have created content specifically for those who want to run it. But also for anyone who has decided to start running and wants to do it the right way.

There is something deeply poetic about running. It is a characteristic that very few sports have, and we runners know what it is: when you come back from a run, you are never the same as when you left.

You are never the same because the thoughts that accompanied you also changed or enriched your views. You are never the same because contact with the outdoors and nature changes our mood. You are never the same because you were able to overcome difficulties and defeat fatigue. You are never the same because every mile your legs run makes you perform better, fitter, stronger.

This very last aspect is very important, although not for everyone. Running, improving, constantly surpassing ourselves is an inherent urge in our souls and is-if you think about it-the evolutionary key to our being human. We also run for this: to go a little faster; to go a little farther; to go a little higher. And you can do it in training, in a race or during a virtual race like the upcoming Deejay Ten.

There is no point in denying it: the number, time, elevation gain and distance are objective references that make us say “yes, I am improving.” To sum up-as you may have guessed from the title-I am talking about the“Personal Best.” And, when it comes to improvement, every detail can make a difference, even in shoes.

The fast shoes

We have seen in recent years products come out that serve precisely to enable us to perform to the best of our ability: shoes designed with the strongest athletes in mind that-thanks to their technological and design innovations-allow even us “mere mortals” to achieve lower times, faster running, and ultimately Eating seconds and defeating time.
These products enable professional athletes to defeat their opponents in competition and, for you, to defeat the “you” of yesterday.

Shoes in this category have midsoles with particularly responsive compounds that return a lot of energy, in some cases they have carbon plates and particularly lightweight uppers because-as in any speed sport (from running to formula 1)-details are key to being able to perform at your best.

They are not shoes suitable for just any training; they are born for speed, to perform at their best, and there they express their full potential.

What shoes to improve Personal Best

In this project, in collaboration with New Balance, we identified the three most suitable shoes for the purpose of improving Personal Best. There are three models, from the most affordable to the most “racing” that will suit any runner and any need.
