For the first time, we decided to conduct a “multi-foot” test to have six people review the same shoe: three women and three men; and all with different preparation, needs, and training levels. In this way we are able to give you a complete opinion on the new
PUMA Magnify Nitro
.
The test, to fully understand the shoes, took place over a total distance of at least 60 kilometers and on different types of training and surfaces. As you can imagine, the results were different for each runner; in particular, it should be pointed out that all PUMA running shoes have a specific and differentiated design and engineering between women and men. We therefore try to summarize and aggregate them into one post.
The distinguishing element
One word emerged from each review to describe the PUMA Magnify Nitro: cushioning. Indeed, the cushioning and comfort characteristics convinced all our testers. But this peculiarity has not entirely detracted from the responsive qualities that make Magnify fun and suitable for acceleration as well.
Of course, their main field of use is the long slow one; the one that you start it and go, no longer worrying about the shoe because its comfort and protection qualities allow you to travel many and many kilometers without worries.
“Comfortable, soft and makes you feel tall and why not…even a little cool! It stays a little taller in the fit as well, in fact it wraps around the ankle well, almost like a sock without thick edges and no various chafing that can lead you to run into the company of those very nice blisters!”
Dynamic skills
The responsiveness was found to be very noticeable by runners running at a medium pace while, those who are faster (with a pace on the slow under 4’40″/Km), expressed the need for a little more speed in the response for faster workouts. On the other hand, the weight of the shoe also matters, and the PUMA Magnify Nitro was born to accompany the runner in his or her longer, more relaxed workouts. Nevertheless, when you want to speed up, they follow.
“I have used them for both long and short workouts, however not too fast. They are wrapping in an incredible way. When I first wore them it felt like a glove but without any ‘constriction’ of the foot. Running feels like you’re really on clouds because of the soft, cushioned feel they give.”
“Lightness, stability and elasticity make running smooth and low fatigue, making you want to keep running. In short, it is an especially good shoe for everyday use, for all the slow cross-country runs that form the essential basis for improving endurance.”
The comfort and flexibility qualities were found to be very high, while maintaining very supportive qualities: essential for the main use (and user) of the PUMA Magnify Nitro.
“Quick exit: immediate response if you push, the sole also has very good grip. On the slow one it finds its best expression, as well as on the long one: exceptional fit, no pain either in the toes or on the heel or even under the sole of the foot.”
To whom are they recommended?
The
PUMA Magnify Nitro
have two souls while maintaining their identity as shoes devoted to comfort and cushioning. For the more leisurely amateur runner, they are fine as unique shoes that also lend themselves to stretching and acceleration. In fact, thanks to the Nitro compound they are fun at any gait.
For the more experienced and faster runner, they are perfect in longer, more challenging workouts or races where the personal best is not the goal.
