The good things in our life

Listen to “S02E34: The Good Things in Our Lives” on Spreaker.

The last installment of Fuorisoglia made us rediscover the punk roots of our generation: we rediscovered that they are not important as such but mainly because they also shaped contemporary culture in a certain way, much closer to us temporally. There are ways of making music and dressing and generally a very specific attitude toward life that was invented in those years in the late 1970s and early 1980s and that we can still find today.

This reflection reminded us that there are so many other moments in our (and your) lives that have shaped us. We are what we are today because personal but also collective things have happened to us that, to different degrees, have marked us. In this installment we mainly remember those that have affected all of us: in short, we talk about world events and cultural phenomena and expressions that are so important that they have influenced everyone’s lives, regardless of whether or not we know their origin.

Who knows how many of those who wear the spike know what its origin is, just as who knows how many have strange, sculpted hairstyles know that punks were the first to wear them.

Not just punk

We’re obviously not just talking about that. We more than anything else wanted to extend the discourse to all the personal and collective memories that have shaped us, changed us and made us what we are today: music, cinema, art, history and politics, high and especially “low” culture (as it is unfairly often called) that belong to our collective memory and make us understand how we got to this point and why. Without any polemical or old boomer tone, because-and you will understand this right away-the point of this episode is that they may call us boomers, but do you want to know what we have seen and experienced? Prepare. And fasten your seat belts properly.

Have you sent your Lovers Mail yet?

In recent weeks we launched the second season of Lovers Mail. Participate and tell your story in our Outlaw podcast-just write it down and send it to info@runlovers.it.
It is so easy and once a month we will collect the best ones and read and comment on them during a special episode. We are not interested in the chronicles of the races but in the flow of thoughts and reflections that accompany us when, one step after another, we run.
What are you waiting for to send it to us?
