Altra has just unveiled Mont Blanc, its new trail shoe, and-as you might guess from the name-it is inspired by big races where it is imperative that every single component contributes to creating the best outcome for the trail runner’s performance.
Still with the traditional zero drop, Altra Mont Blancs were designed on the assumption that lightness means greater speed. In fact, they are explicitly devoted to performance, thanks to the hyper-light upper with great breathability and the Vibram Litebase sole: designed to always guarantee maximum grip but with a special focus on weight, which comes in 30% lighter than other soles.
All to build a system-shoe that weighs 280 grams (197 in the women’s version).
But weight reduction does not only mean performance. In fact, the new Altra Mont Blancs are designed to provide high cushioning thanks to the EGO max midsole with 30 mm outsole height. Comfort-a feature, however, that is also dynamic-comes from the Footshape™ Toe Box medium fit, which allows the toes to spread out during stance, increasing the stability and natural cushioning of the foot.
In conclusion, the new Altra Mont Blancs are designed for lightness, performance and comfort even in the longest and most demanding races.
