About a year and a half ago I was writing about the phenomenon of running crews, trying to clarify who they were and what their purpose was. With a few rare exceptions, the common denominator of all the different groups I came into contact with, from the most historic to the newer ones, was inclusivity, whether real or superficial. After an initial surge of interest, when this phenomenon started to resemble more of a trend than a genuine social initiative for sharing, it seems the excitement around it is gradually fading. However, the desire of people to run together and share training sessions, beyond just social runs, remains, and indeed is growing stronger.
In response to this need, Tribe Running was born: an app designed to create authentic connections between runners, offering them the opportunity to train together, support each other, and share successes and difficulties along the way to their goals. These values are symbolically encapsulated in the logo, which depicts two tents uniting cultures and people, and two mountains representing challenges to be faced, personal growth, and the achievement of ambitious goals. An emblem of resilience, collective development, and continuous momentum toward the summit.

A global community
The dream of Angelica Parodi and Luigi Aiello, respectively CEO and CTO, is to be able to build through Tribe Running a global community of athletes who can run together always, wherever they are in the world, overcoming their own limits thanks to the power of connection with other people.
One of the limitations of running crews is territoriality: in cities like Milan and Rome there are plenty of options, but this is not the case in smaller places, where finding running partners is much harder. Tribe Running aims to bridge this gap and create a network of relationships between all runners, regardless of their geographical location.
An idea born from passion
Behind every innovative idea there is a lot of work but also a great deal of passion, like the passion Angelica and Luigi have for sports and competition. Angelica is a former track and field athlete, specializing in the 800m, a discipline with which she won a scholarship in America; combining her skills with those of Luigi, who has always been passionate about sports, they created what they had not yet found on the market, namely a platform that would respond to a concrete need: a global community for runners. Firmly convinced of the strong link between sports and sociality, they created an app that would allow runners to connect and give them the tools to keep motivation high, run safely through the company of others, improve performance, and experience running as a life-changing social experience.

How it works
After downloading it from the Apple Store or Google Play (Android version is available since January) and signing up, all that remains is to refine your profile, selecting only and exclusively the information you wish to share with other registered users. In addition to allowing you to share your results, the app offers the option to make visible the workouts you have scheduled, with the ability to filter them by geolocation. Users can interact with each other by commenting on other members’ workouts and view details of their own or other athletes’ profiles.
The Future of Tribe Running
The user base is already growing, and the feedback is overwhelmingly positive. New features are in the works that will further enrich this already innovative app with a broad vision. The goal is to provide more opportunities for connection, helping runners achieve their dreams, cross finish lines, and overcome obstacles together.
