The pursuit of speed often leads runners to stiffen their muscles, raising their shoulders and contracting the cervical area in an attempt to generate more push. When running without a chronometric goal, it becomes easier to focus on your posture and correct its inefficiencies.

Keeping your shoulders relaxed and away from your ears, letting your arms swing naturally by your sides, and keeping your torso aligned helps eliminate the tension accumulated in your back.
