A few days ago we spoke with Stefano Gregoretti on the phone, and he raised an important thought that I share: “instead of complaining and being controversial, why don’t we try to do something useful and important?” How can one disagree with his point of view?
Said, done.
Stephen in fact a few days ago launched his event for next Sunday, March 29:
Tor del Hamsters
(The Hamsters “Tor”). A race in which everyone can participate from his or her home by pledging a symbolic participation fee of – at least – €10 directly to the Civil Defense for the Coronavirus Emergency.
Here are Stephen’s words:
Running around the house, or on a treadmill, jumping rope, squats, push-ups, sit-ups, in the backyard or in the middle of the living room–it’s not exactly the most useful things in the world, let’s face it–but right now it’s useful to do it to maintain a minimum of fitness and especially lucidity. Even at this time we remember that movement is always good for us, and we must do it at home, for ourselves and for others. Tough though without a competition…
BUT. Since there is no competition, why not organize one ourselves?
A zero-mile race, all together, each at home.
A competition where everyone defines their own goal.
A race with no podium, a race where if you participate you actually win!
A competition where we show the strength and positivity of us sportsmen.
A race where we prove to ourselves that with little we can make ourselves useful by supporting those directly on the front lines.
Easy? EASY.
Read the regulations! And participate!
For all the information I recommend you go to the
Facebook page for the event
, where you will find every detail.
All that’s left is to start warming up for fun and training together for a good cause.
