The next thing a child does after learning to walk, even before he can manage his gait properly, is trying to run. This is normal and automatic because he does not yet have full awareness of how to manage his body, and finding himself unbalanced will make it easier for him to run than to walk. As they grow up, they learn to walk properly and running is relegated to a sporting activity, but only a portion of children and young boys practice it, and those who approach running in adulthood often find it difficult, because they are no longer used to running and they – understandably – struggle a lot at first. If you have spent a rather sedentary life or if you have not mastered a suitable running technique at least to avoid injuring yourself by running even a few hundred meters, running can be very frustrating, and after the first unsuccessful attempts you would feel like not trying anymore. And instead. it’s just a matter of not giving up and trying to continue a little longer, because the results are coming.

So here are ten quotes that can be inspirational for those who are starting out in running and think that it is not what is right for them.

  1. Alternate running and walking is perfectly fine, pay no attention to those who tell you otherwise.
  2. The key to everything is the perseverance, don’t think you will never make it, yesterday you didn’t even try and now you are here.
  3. Bad days happen even to champions, let alone to us. Try again, it will get better.
  4. Going slow is just fine. Slow is still faster than standing still.
  5. Don’t compare yourself to others. The only person you can compare yourself with is the one you see in the mirror.
  6. You’ve taken the first step, it’s already something big. There will always be those who are faster, run longer and have a better running style, but no one will make your way for you.
  7. Listening to music (or even better RunLovers podcasts) is just fine and . it’s not true that real runners run without headphones.
  8. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself .. Running is especially good for you when you are having fun, and improvements come more easily if you are not under stress.
  9. If you feel like a day off , indulge yourself. Resting is part of training and serves to improve.
  10. Commitment always pays off , Don’t be upset by what may seem like setbacks. Believe in your skills, it is said that Rome was not built in a day, the same goes for running.
