Saucony Ride 13: running in first class

If you have traveled first class you know what I am referring to in the title.
In fact, the feeling that comes from the new Saucony Ride 13 is one of absolute comfort to make your “ride” as pleasant as possible. Not surprisingly, the Saucony Ride 13 is one of the most successful models produced by the American company. Shoes suitable for any type of runner seeking comfort and cushioning for their workouts.

In a market that focuses so much on performance and speed these days, it is also nice to find shoes like the Ride 13 that make you feel as comfortable as if you were on the couch at home in front of the fireplace.

In fact, as soon as you slip them on, you realize that you could run in them for many, many miles without having to suffer in any way-fatigue aside. ;)
And I won’t deny you that, before writing this review, I grinded a lot of miles inside the Saucony Ride 13s myself.

Now enough anticipation, let’s see what the new Ride 13 looks like and how it performs.

Soft, sincere and protective

After a very short break-in of a few dozen kilometers, the shoes begin to perform at their best, revealing their protective and comfort features.
The EVA midsole, made in the new PWRRUN technology, is extremely cushioned and consistent in its dynamic response. On long runs-arguably the Ride 13’s favorite hunting ground-foot fatigue is really very low and the feeling is one of being able to go on forever.

However, there is no shortage of responsiveness when deciding to quicken the pace for a sprint, a stretch or a repeat.

The main feeling is to have a very reliable shoe on your feet that could really accompany you anywhere.

This feeling is also amplified by the upper, which is made with FormFit technology that creates-at 360 degrees around the foot-a totally soft and cozy environment.
Tongue and padding are extremely comfortable while keeping the foot firmly inside the shoe and giving it the proper support-both at the heel and medially.

To close this hypothetical circle of comfort, the upper, made of breathable mesh, is lightweight and always keeps the foot at the right temperature. Even on the hottest days.

I have never made it a secret that in a running shoe, the balance and equilibrium between the different elements that make it up must be perfect. As you may have guessed, the balance is there in these Saucony Ride 13, and it is all about comfort and durability. While remaining a shoe that knows how to give back energy the moment you push a little harder.

The last consideration, personal but I think also indicative, goes on the design features of the Ride 13. The 8-millimeter drop is, in my opinion, a perfect compromise between more traditional differentials (10 to 12 mm) and shoes more geared toward natural footing (under 4 to 6 mm). This aspect too-along with its 278 grams-contributes to maintaining a footing that makes fatigue feel less.

Ultimately

If you need a shoe to go with you over any distance, for any type of neutral runner, the Saucony Ride 13 are definitely in the shoes to try because of their being comfortable, honest, responsive and durable. And, a detail not to be overlooked, with a list price of 140 euros, absolutely in line with the market for mid- to high-end running shoes.

One last thing, a very personal consideration, the neon colors in the Mutant Collection are wonderful.
Because, yes, the eye also wants its share.
