Lightnessand responsiveness are the evolutionary key to many innovations in the running world in recent years. ASICS started down this road back in 2016, that is, since it introduced FLYTEFOAM, a midsole compound that was more responsive and especially lighter than it had ever employed.
The magic formula identified by the Japanese company was as simple as it was powerful: it was-and still is-the “Lightness-Reactivity-Ammortization” triad. The obsession-in a good way-since then has always been to get shoes that are lightweight, very responsive but not hard or yield nothing to comfort.
Almost six years have passed, but the path laid out then has branched out in other directions and evolutions, such as that of FLYTEFOAM BLAST, a new compound that is even lighter and even more responsive.
Take off (weight) and put on (responsiveness)

The GEL-CUMULUS are now in their 24th year. Among ASICS’ absolute most popular models, they received the FF BLAST “treatment” (“FF” stands for FLYTEFOAM) and gained in lightness (-24 grams) and snap. Not only that, the new strong and lightweight ASICS LITE™ Outsole tread rubber resists abrasion better and adds additional responsiveness.

The heel area has also been redesigned to better accommodate the foot and, through the use of foam, to increase softness during landing.
Finally, the dress of the GEL-CUMULUS 24 is made of jacquard fabric, made to give the shoe more breathability while maintaining a comfortable temperature during runs.
The GEL-CUMULUS 24 are available in both men’s and women’s versions at ASICS retail outlets, online stores, and specialized running stores for €140.00.
