A Clog from the Future
Modularity

Vans Future Clog: OTW x Sterling RubyA unique feature of the Future Clog, beyond its highly original shape, is that it’s designed as a system: the inner mule is like a reinforced sock that slides into a shell inspired by the Dutch clog. The liner is removable and washable, while the outer shell has a more technical and protective volume. This hybridization isn’t just a formal gimmick: it allows you to switch from domestic/everyday use to a more outdoor setting in a single motion.
Vans’ Positioning
With OTW, Vans has redefined its high-end category after the Vault era, establishing a research hub for collaborations that challenge the skate lexicon and push it toward product design. The goal is twofold: to elevate the brand’s expression by experimenting with languages and technologies, and to broaden its audience and range of use-contexts while maintaining the connection to the Off The Wall ethos. That is, a culture that constantly wants to push boundaries and create hybrids of different contexts.

Art and Streetwear
Ruby’s trajectory—an artist who has also been involved in fashion for years with S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA.—is emblematic of a stable hybridization between artistic practices and streetwear: a territory that iconic brands explore to fuel creativity, test processes, and expand their user/fan base without betraying their identity. In this sense, the Future Clog is less of a “hype piece” and more of a case study in applied design: a sculptural form, modular function, and a narrative consistent with both the artist’s personal history and the brand’s evolution.
The Future Clog will be available starting August 21, 2025, through the official channels of Vans and S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. at an indicative price of $115.
