Vibram Furoshiki, the shoe that wraps around your foot

If you can never find the right shoe because they all fit you wide or tight someone has thought of you.

The Japanese designer Masaya Hashimoto in collaboration with Vibram has developed a shoe that literally wraps around your foot. Not in the sense that it is more or less wrapping, but in the sense that the upper fits your foot because it is made up of open flaps that you close over the heel so that it fits snugly. The highest degree of customization.

Inspiration came to Hashimoto thinking about the furoshiki, a cloth that is employed in Japan to wrap things to carry them. The sole consists of a shell that holds the heel firmly and accommodates the flap and secures it, and a respectable tread.
