A lustre of running

  • 2 minute read

There are two holidays that all of us in here consider sacred and untouchable: Christmas, the feast of the patron “saint” of us RunLovers, and our birthday. If you want to mark the dates in your diary, I’ll give them to you now:

Christmas: December 25
Patron Saint: April 11
Birthday: TODAY!!!

And so let’s get the stadium choruses going, shoot off firecrackers, celebrate with carbogel-covered tarts, and most importantly, exchange good wishes!

5 years, a lustre!

RunLovers was born for fun, and not even in our most dreamy fantasies would we have imagined that we would make it to 5 years old. If we were a dog, it would equate to 35 but it’s not like the times in the web are that different from canine times. Because it takes tremendous perseverance, attention, care-it’s like running a very long marathon in which you never quit. Maybe you slow down to regain your strength but only to speed up immediately afterward.

And it’s mostly thanks to you: that you believe in the RunLovers spirit; that you can’t wait to go out for a run to have fun despite the weather or daily commitments; that you’ve realized that being a RunLover means enjoying running to the fullest without necessarily being dependent on minutes/kilometers or race placement.

Together, over these 5 years, we have put shoes on the feet of many people and explained to them that running does not mean fatigue, sweat and discomfort. Running is that wonderful smile on your face when you return home after 5, 10, 20, 30 kilometers spent listening to the sound of your feet touching the asphalt lightly.

Martino, as well as all the others you read in these virtual pages, are deeply grateful to you and to all the people who – like you – have helped us make RunLovers a community of wonderful people (with special mention to our RunLovers Club on Facebook).

But who is the patron saint?

And would you like me to tell you? To the first 5 who comment below with the correct name, we will give away the exclusive “you’re a runlover” bracelet. (So remember to comment with the right email address ;)

If no one guesses within 7 days, we will sadly burn the 5 bracelets (documenting the ceremony on video). So please don’t make us look bad. <3

Happy birthdayooooooo!!! <3
