February is the month of the heart, and not just love

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in Italy and a risk factor for other diseases. To prevent and raise awareness among the greatest number of people, during the month of February, traditionally dedicated to cardiology prevention, Apple will make available a series of new resources dedicated to heart health and designed to support users toward healthier habits.

Apple will offer ad hoc collections in Apple Fitness+, the App Store, the Apple TV app, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books:

  • Apps dedicated to prevention. Such as, for example, HeartWatch, Gentler Streak, and Zones that allow you to improve your fitness level and overall well-being by accessing personalized workouts, monitoring key heart rate parameters, and tracking key health information.
  • A collection of titles focused on heart health, including books on cardiology, emotional wellness, and healthy eating.
  • Instead, a collection of movies and programs dedicated to heart disease and healthy habits will be available in the Apple TV app.
  • A collection of podcasts will be highlightedon Apple Podcasts with medical specialists who will help listeners learn about their health and make them aware of a proper lifestyle.

For Apple Watch owners, Apple will launch a new activity challenge that, on Feb. 14, will invite you to complete 30 minutes in the Exercise ring for a special prize. In addition, from February 14 Fitness+ will feature a special section with 30-minute energizing workouts designed to help users stay motivated and complete their weekly exercise minutes.

In some countries, including Italy, those who decide to upgrade to a new Apple Watch model in February will be able to save even more with a trade-in.

Every Apple Watch user can better understand his or her own heart health and become aware of potential abnormalities so that he or she can talk to his or her doctor about them, thanks to information provided by powerful tools such as the ECG app, notifications of irregular heart rhythm and heart rate too high or too low, and cardiovascular tone levels.

For those who are just beginning to do more activity and want to experience healthier days,
Fitness+
offers beginner workouts in categories such as Strengthening, HIIT, Yoga, Pilates, Dance and Core. In each workout, the trainer team also shows modifications to adapt it to the user’s various skill levels, plus workouts and meditations can last as little as 5 or 10 minutes, so you can start gradually. Walking is one of the world’s healthiest activities: it can be done at any time and offers many benefits, such as relieving stress and improving cardiovascular health.

On February 14, a new episode of Let’s Walk, an audio experience for Apple Watch designed to encourage people to be more active by walking more often, will be available; the episode will feature special guest Georges St-Pierre, a former mixed martial arts champion widely recognized as one of the best athletes ever in the sport. Fitness+ will also launch a new episode of Let’s Run, the audio experience designed to help runners become more consistent and make progress, which will take the user on a journey through San Francisco’s most iconic neighborhoods.
