Starting with some iconic running shoe models, adidas Originals has created 2000 Running, a new collection that combines the best of the past and present with an eye toward the future.
2000 Running will be accompanied by a campaign that will emphasize the role the brand has played in our society’s culture. “Two Thousand Stories” is the name of the campaign curated by two talented artists, photographer Ewan Spencer and image maker Sophie Jones. A clear comparison between two eras and two generations emerges from the combination of their work.
2000 Running comes in three sneaker models that draw on and are inspired by the experimental style of the adidas archive. Let’s find out together.
From the future with fury
Let’s start with the sneakers that caught the attention of fans when they first appeared in the 1990s: the adidas Ozmillen. This new version that takes inspiration from the iconic Ozweego has a very contemporary look with a futuristic soul. With an upper made from 50 percent recycled material, the Ozmillen’s metallic inserts and two shades of color create a dynamic and modern look. An additional element that makes them modern and contemporary is the presence of the Adiplus cushioned midsole.
A mix of styles for every occasion
The dip into the past continues with the adidas Response CL, which mixes different styles and looks, starting with suede stitched overlays for a contemporary yet somewhat old school style. The EVA midsole gives that cushioned feel mixed with softness and lightness.
For a running-inspired style
Le adistar Cushion comes straight from the 2000s. They have returned to accompany you through the course of your days. Introduced as running shoes in 2005 these sneakers are true timeless icons. Made of 20 percent recycled materials, they are lightweight thanks to the breathable mesh upper and well-cushioned thanks to the Adiprene cushioning system. Some metallic and reflective details give them a retro-tech look.
The collection will be available from January 22 on the official adidas .co.uk website in adidas stores and at selected retailers.
