Apple Keynote for sportsmen

In the latest New Products Keynote presentation, Apple launched the new Apple Watch Series 10; tenth version in ten years of Cupertino’s smartwatch.
Along with it, the new WatchOS 11, Apple Watch Ultra 2 in black coloring (but with no changes from the existing model), some Fitness+ features, and the now “traditional” new iPhone 16 (and iPhone 16 Pro) with the iOS 18 operating system were also presented .
The news for sports enthusiasts is mainly related to the Cupertino brand’s smartwatch, with the introduction of changes to the design, operating system and Fitness+.
The new Apple Watch Series 10 features a larger and thinner design, a 9% larger screen than the previous model, and the introduction of new wide-angle OLED technology that optimizes each pixel to emit more light at wider angles.
The result is a display up to 40 percent brighter than the Series 9 when viewed from the side, a very common situation and useful feature when exercising, especially outdoors.
In addition, the new design features more rounded corners in a wider format.
And it is this change that allowed for the inclusion of a larger display, only slightly increasing the size of the case, which is now available in 42 mm and 46 mm sizes. In addition to being thinner, the Apple Watch Series 10 is also lighter: the aluminum case weighs up to 10 percent less than the Series 9, and the titanium case weighs almost 20 percent less than the stainless steel case of the Apple Watch Series 9.
Battery life is still 18 hours, with 80% fast charging in 30 minutes.
Apple Watch Series 10 is priced from €459 (including VAT), can already be ordered and will be available in stores from September 20. WatchOS 11 has further enriched the sports experience.
Prominent among the new features is Training Load, which analyzes heart rate and workout load data, providing suggestions on when to rest or intensify physical activity.
This feature is useful for those who train intensely and can thus track their performance to prevent overtraining.
The Vitals app allows users to monitor parameters such as breathing and heart rate, providing a complete picture of post-workout recovery.
In addition, for those who swim in the pool, watchOS 11 introduces personalized workouts with haptic feedback (the typical Apple Watch vibration). Apple Fitness+ on iOS 18 has undergone a major overhaul with the introduction of the “For You” section, which offers personalized suggestions based on previous workouts.
This platform helps users stay motivated by offering sessions that match their fitness level and goals.
watchOS 11 and iOS 18 will be available starting Monday, September 16.
