With each previous version of the NOVABLAST, ASICS has managed to align with the expectations of many runners—from those looking for cushioned support to those wanting a playful, challenging shoe. Refining an already beloved model is a big challange. However, guided by the Japanese principle of kaizen, ASICS is in constant pursuit of improvement, challenging itself by introducing updates to provide runners with an even more unique and special running experience.
On December 1st, the NOVABLAST™ 5 will launch, introducing significant changes primarily in the midsole design, propelling us into a new dimension of cushioning.
FF BLAST MAX Technology
The NOVABLAST™ 5 is the first ASICS shoe with a midsole fully made from FF BLAST MAX technology. Previously introduced only in the GLIDERIDE MAX, this new foam promises enhanced cushioning and energy return, offering 8.5% more responsiveness than the previous FF BLAST PLUS ECO used in the NOVABLAST™ 4. Practically, this translates to even softer landings and a more pronounced bounce effect with each step.
What remains the same is the geometric design of the midsole, defined by interlocking triangles and lines that make it instantly recognizable.
New upper with improved tongue
ASICS designers also focused on enhancing the upper, making it even more comfortable to amplify the sensations provided by the midsole. The tongue has also been improved, inspired by another model in the BLAST family, the SUPERBLAST™. The gusseted tongue in the NOVABLAST™ 5 creates a secure, reliable fit every time they’re worn.
With this latest version, the NOVABLAST™ 5 aims to meet the needs of those seeking a responsive, energetic, yet comfortable running experience, extending the love affair for those who have already tried and loved previous versions, while capturing the hearts—and feet—of those yet to give it a chance.
