At the end of a year, it is always useful to draw some balance sheets or look back a bit to understand how far we have come. In the case of Goodmorning Runlovers, it’s nice to go back over the most beloved stories over the past 12 months. Here they are!
For many, this is a good time to look back on the past year. Spotify shows the songs we listened to the most. Strava summarizes the miles run. 🖤 I, to thank you for being here, keeping us company each morning in over 4,000 Runlovers, thought I would collect the 2024 newsletters you enjoyed the most. Maybe some mornings you don’t read it, it ends up in spam or the trash, and you want to make sure you didn’t miss the best installments? Maybe you just signed up and want to figure out where you landed?
What newsletter episodes have you loved the most this year?
For simplicity’s sake, I selected the ones where you left more 🖤 than appreciation. Here are the top 5 with a brief summary.
🥇 The behind-the-scenes installment of this project. How, when, where the newsletter is written that you craftily receive every morning in your inbox.
🥈 The story of the Williams sisters and a reflection on how much the environment, in which we are born and grow up, influences our path.
🥉 Reading the story of this Italian who went running to Everest, you probably shed a few tears yourself. Me writing it, many.
🏅 A episode in which you must have smiled thinking that these phrases were said to you, fooling you. Or even worse, now you are the one telling them to your friends to convince them to run.
⭐ A reflection on how good healthy important obnoxious it is to wake up early to run. Plus as a bonus, a special calendar for choosing the best days to train.
Here, these 5 are the ones most appreciated at the level in general. You can find them all in the complete archive (link). If you can think of any other installments, stories or themes that you particularly enjoyed, remind me in the comments. As also, if you like, tell me what you found most useful about this project. It will help me a lot in thinking about new content for 2025.
