Plan long adventures with the Brooks Caldera 7

  • 3 minute read

Celentano sought summer all year round (and I with him). Suddenly he found it, while we will have to wait a few more months. When I think of summer I project myself into an adventurous mood, where no destination is too distant or unreachable. That the Brooks team had something like this in mind when they worked on the new
Caldera 7
?

Lighter, cushioned, comfortable and durable

Brooks Caldera 7 is the new version of the long-distance shoe that Brooks designed for off-road running enthusiasts. Just as the version that preceded it ensures comfort and cushioning with a capital A, thanks to the DNA LOFT v3 compound, the same technology that has already won us over in the Glycerin 21.

If one looks at the shape of the midsole, it might resemble a mountainous profile because of the presence of a series of spikes that would, with a little imagination, represent the peaks of the mountains. In fact, this irregular profile has the function of making Caldera 7 safer and more flexible at some strategic points.

The foot is further protected by a special TPEE air mesh upper capable of perfectly managing moisture and ensuring perfect breathability in all conditions. Completing the picture is a new TrailTack Green Rubber outsole designed to provide the grip you need on whatever terrain you’ll find yourself running on, thanks in part to a wider footing base and sole grooves that stabilize impacts with the ground.

Dress makes the trail runner

In trail running, even more so than in road running, the choice of clothing is crucial to be able to cope with any unexpected weather but also to be able to run freely. Brooks has also thought of this by introducing a new model of shorts, the High Point 2-in 1 2.0 equipped with all the pockets you might need and more. Distributed along the elastic waistband you can store all your items so that they do not bother you or hinder your movements. The two strides pockets are designed for bulkier items such as flasks, the typical soft trail water bottles. The GO2 Repel™ ripstop fabric insert make them resistant to water and wear and tear, so they can stay with you for a long, long time. The presence of side slits make the shorts adapt to your movements, especially during climbs, while the snug-fitting inner lining prevents and prevents chafing.

A top-notch team of testers

One thing is certain: the 38 professional athletes who make up the Brooks Trail Runners team will be well equipped and supported by the equipment they will need, and which they will test in advance, to face and overcome the challenges that will see them engaged in the new season. The team that will represent Brooks in major international races boasts components from all over Europe-Austria, Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland and Italy, which will field eight athletes of the 38 total.

Like Brooks Trail Runners, you too can choose to run your next adventures by wearing the new Caldera 7, available on the Brooks Running website and at selected retailers for 150 euros. Or you can choose Catamount 3 or Cascadia 17 in the two new colors.

On the Brooks Running website you will also find the full High Point clothing collection, including not only the High Point 2-in 1 2.0 shorts but also the High Point Waterproof Jacket, High Point Long Sleeve, High Point Short Sleeve, and finally the High Point Waterpoof Pants.
