Indoor or outdoor training?

Do you love Father or Mother more? Is pizza or pasta carbonara better? Is indoor or outdoor training better? – These are all questions that are (almost) impossible to answer. If the first and second are almost unresolvable, whether it is better to train indoors or outdoors has a very precise answer: it depends.

First of all, it depends on your frame of mind. There are people who just can’t train indoors, and that’s completely understandable. As there are others-including myself-for whom training indoors has indisputable advantages of comfort and control. Not surprisingly, there are some workouts that require precise power or gradients that are difficult to reproduce on the road.

In the new episode of Fuorisoglia we try to explore what the pros and cons of both of these environmental choices are, and we also talk about them with coach Paul Barbera, who writes in our pages and directs Tri60 a training center in Milan designed specifically for theindoor training to endurance sports.

As you imagine, we will try to go beyond indoor or outdoor fan considerations to delve deeper and understand what are the real benefits we can get out of it.
