Like a twin birth Altra running has given birth to not one but two new models that expand the large family of shoes dedicated to road running for the SS24 collection.
If they were twins they would be heterozygous, with a minimal degree of similarity and profound differences that give each shoe a distinct identity.
The soft one for going fast
VIA Olympus 2 comes with a claim that leaves little to the imagination:

Greater softness and thus greater comfort. This is made possible by the use of Altra ‘s special EGO™ MAX foam and the innovative Ortholite X55 footbed, designed to increase the feeling of comfort and cushioning in the heel area.
The Altra EGO™ MAX foam with which the midsole is made gives maximum cushioning by giving the midsole an innovative design. The stack height remains unchanged (33 mm) giving you that feeling that makes you want to pick up the pace and run harder.
Sensation that is accentuated by the introduction of the innovative Rocker Shape geometry that gives VIA Olympus 2 a rounded shape that mimics the outline of your foot making the stance and push-off phase smoother.

Provision 8 is synonymous with long-distance comfort. The midsole made in this case of Altra EGO™ foam provides excellent cushioning enhanced by the addition of Altra’s Innerflex™ technology, a grid groove system at the base of the outsole that is functional to provide maximum flexibility and freedom of movement with every stance.
And when the going gets tough, Medial GuideRail™ technology comes into play: a support system that can offer you support the moment fatigue starts to set in.
Original FootShape™ for the VIA Olympus 2 and Standard Footshape™ Fit for the Provision 8 both models allow toes room for movement within the shoe, promoting natural support of the entire sole.
VIA Olympus 2 and Provision 8 are available on the official Altra running website and at selected retailers from November 2, the former priced at 170 euros and the latter at 140 euros.
